American Clay Earth Plaster is a practical, environmentally friendly alternative to cement, gypsum, acrylic and lime plasters and paints. This clay plaster was developed in New Mexico in 2000 by Croft Elsaesser, a high-end furniture and wall finisher who was unable to find a current product that would meet his demanding specifications, he created American Clay Earth Plasters. The natural earth plaster creates a healthy, wholesome environment for clients. Clay naturally controls the interior climate by absorbing and releasing moisture in response to environmental changes. Walls are warm to the touch in winter and surprisingly cool in the summer. The patent pending process assures a durable, dust-free veneer plaster. The natural earth finishes also do not provide a "home" for mold growth, nor do they emit potentially harmful gases from petroleum-based additives or formaldehydes. American Clay is made from a unique combination of clays, aggregates, and natural pigments. There are three unique finishes to choose from and the textures are unlimited. American Clay Earth Plasters will cover most wall surfaces. However, application is not recommended on oriental strand board, plywood, tongue and grooved paneling, and other materials prone to expansion and contration with changes in temperature and moisture.
